Taking to the pitch on the first of April could be a little unsettling, but that is precisely what Arsenal and Newcastle will be doing as they enter into one of the last few games of the season. Both teams will be looking for the three points, and bonusbets.com looks at their current form.

Arsenal

For Arsenal, this should be a comfortable home match that they win easily. The higher ranked team they currently sit in fourth on the table, and this is a vital position for them. The battle for third and fourth could not be closer, and they have had to battle Manchester United to get the place, and the fight is not over yet. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, now appointed permanent manager has pushed the team hard in the second half of the season, and they have become a very real thorn in Arsenals side. But the Gunners are playing well, and with Newcastle well below them, they are odds on favourite to win.

This week saw the return of a few players who have been over in Dubai in the training camp, some of whom have been missing from recent matches due to injury. It looks hopeful that Unai Emery might get the green light with Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck from the medical professionals. Not injured but also returning from the training camp are Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil so there is a suggestion they will be playing in this match. Sadly there is a cloud hanging over Aaron Ramsey as he was injured during the Euro 2020 qualifier playing for Wales. It is not known at this stage if his thigh injury will allow him to play.

Newcastle

On the other side of the pitch, Newcastle is currently in the bottom half of the table, and unlucky for some are in 13th place. There is little they can do now to climb, but holding position is always the plan in this situation. Their form has not been as hot over the last five matches with just one win, three draws and a loss, but overall it was an improving performance.

Without a doubt they are the underdogs of the fixture and Rafael Benítez will be aware that this is probably a match his team cannot win when they head to the Emirates to play. However, he will still be except the team to perform well and give it their best shot. During recent national duty, two of his team, in particular, stood out as playing really well which will give the team some added confidence. Salomon Rondon who is the team’s top scorer managed to make the first goal for Venezuela in the size minutes. Martin Dubravka who has attracted a lot of interest and comes up in the transfer window gossip all the time at the moment gave even more evidence of his goalkeeping prowess when his defended 16 attempts on his goal and left the teal with a clean sheet.
