There may be a time when you need to place a bet of less than £2 on Betfair Exchange. This may be because you simply wish to place a small bet or you may have bet less than you intended and wish to make it up with an additional bet. Unfortunately, the minimum bet on Betfair is currently set to £2 which leads many users to believe it’s not possible. However, we’re going to show you how it is.
Follow the simple steps below to bet less than £2 on Betfair Exchange.

Step 1
The first step is to head to the market which you wish to bet on. In this example, we’ll be backing RB Leipzig in their match against FC Koln.
Note that this method works for both back and lay bets.
Step 2
Next, add the selection you wish to bet on to your bet slip and change the odds to something where you’re sure it won’t be matched. For example, we have changed the back odds of RB Leipzig to win from 1.58 to 100.
Click on the ‘Place Bets’ button and then on ‘Confirm Bets’.
Your bet will not be placed as it is extremely unlikely to be matched since you changed the odds dramatically.
As you can see below, our bet is unmatched.
Step 3
The next step is to change the stake of your unmatched bet.
Click on the ‘View Open Bets’ button and you’ll be able to edit your bet.
Leave the odds as they are but increase the stake by the amount of the bet that you want to place. For example, if you originally wanted to place a £0.50 bet but couldn’t because of the £2 minimum, increase the current stake by £0.50. In our example, this would mean that we would change the stake to £2.50.
Click on the ‘Update’ button and your betslip should now show two separate bets. One for your original £2 bet and another with the additional stake you just added.
Step 4
Next, cancel the original £2 bet by clicking on the ‘X’. This will leave just one bet at the stake you wish to place your bet at. The original bet will remain on the bet slip but will be greyed out.
The only thing left to change is the odds from 100 back to whatever they are currently at on Betfair.
As shown below, we have cancelled the £2 bet and set the odds for the other bet to 1.58.
Step 5
The final step is to confirm your bet.
Click on the ‘Update’ button and your original bet will be cancelled and your bet with a stake below £2 will be placed!
That’s it!
As you can see, we have successfully placed a £0.50 bet on Betfair Exchange.
